A CLASSIC British sports car may be revived 40 years after its glory days. But this time the brains behind the Austin Healey are German. BMW which owns the brand, has built concept version of the open-top beauty. And although it sticks to its heritage by having a Union Flag on the side, it was designed in California. Like the original Austin Healey 3000, the new version will be a head turner if it goes into production. John Keener, chairman of the UK Austin Healey Club said: "The whole point of a Healey is that it looks like a Healey and only the originals do." The new car, codenamed Project Warwick after the city where the first Healeys were first designed in the 1950's, keeps the familiar round lights at the back, the striking grill and a two tone colour scheme. It will have a 3.2 litre engine. |
